Lent: Dwell Day 18

Don't freak out! I'm not asking you to read all of Leviticus today. I'm telling you this is your focus for meditation. So before we begin, take a few drops of Frankincense in the palm of your hand. Rub together and inhale deeply. Massage any remaining oil on the back of your neck and bottoms of your feet. Close your eyes and take your focus on your breath. Feel the inhale deep into the bottom of your belly. Feel the exhale travel up and out of the nose. Start to connect to the rhythm of your own breath. Use the mantra Grace as you inhale, use the mantra Peace as you exhale. Take a moment and watch the overview of the book of Leviticus. (below) If you would rather read through it first, please take the time to do so.

When you're ready gently move your body. Be intentional about the movement and feel your body. Gentle does not mean easy, it means gentle, it means intentional. Maker sure your movements are purposeful.

Frankincense is known as the oil of truth. There are some pretty deep concepts we're reading through today. And in our modern society it can be very hard to read through. It can be hard to grasp the deeper meanings. So let this oil help us today to awaken to the deep truth of the gospel shown through the law.

Today we're just going inhale and exhale the law. We're going to understand that this book is picking up where Exodus left off. We were devastated when Moses could not enter the Tabernacle after everything we'd seen God do ... so why? Leviticus lays it out for us. Why and what must be done. What is the purpose of every detail of the Tabernacle and how does it give us back fellowship with God.

I am so in love with The Bible Project. They are a nonprofit organization making these amazing videos I've been sharing. What I love most about these videos is that they are taking some very complicated and confusing passages and making it into understandable language. And they are making the bible come to life.
